BOX NOW Requirements for Proper Packaging of Parcels

Parcels must be packed by the SENDER in inner and outer transport packaging that reliably protects them from damage that may occur under the usual risks present during handling, transportation, loading and unloading operations. Commercial packaging is not suitable for transport! The company does not engage to transport postal items that are sensitive to low or high temperatures.

Separate packages must be placed by the sender in a common larger and sufficiently strong cardboard package. Cartons should not be overfilled.

Each of the items in the parcel must have an individual inner packaging that does not allow contact between them. The individual inner packaging must protect the item from damage and prevent damage to the rest of the contents in the event of damage (breakage, spillage, crushing, etc.).

Fragile items in the parcel with liquid or cream contents must be individually wrapped in rigid cardboard in the shape of the item to ensure a good seal, without voids, and the additional packaging for the entire parcel must be of waterproof material. Items must not move freely in the outer packaging of the parcel.

Appropriate inner packaging must be used to wrap and seal the individual goods in the parcel. Fragile products must not be into contact with the outer packaging. The outer packaging must be securely sealed, and all edges reinforced with packing tape. The packaging must protect the items during the entire transport.

Packaging must be suitable for handling by loading and sorting machines, and “Fragile” labels are not a substitute for good packaging, but for information only.

Fragile products made of glass, ceramics or cosmetics:

Such items should be individually wrapped in several layers of heavy-duty paper and several layers of bubble wrap, as well as a suitable separator of Styrofoam, rigid cardboard or other suitable material to isolate the item from the others and from the outer packaging. Small cosmetic products must be placed in individual packages of three-layer corrugated cardboard. Cosmetic products in containers with a pump or cap, including perfumes, must be additionally wrapped in tightly fitting thick nylon that does not allow damage to the mechanism and possible spillage of the product. The outer packaging must be a new five-layer corrugated cardboard box, additionally reinforced with transport film.

Glass containers (bottles, jars, etc.):

Specialized packaging is used, which is offered for such products with adequate characteristics. These are cartons designed for the corresponding type and number of bottles, made of reinforced cardboard, with the necessary gaps and seals that absorb the transport loads.

Electronics:

This kind of products are fragile and sensitive during transportation. They must be shipped in special factory shipping packaging that is reinforced and has the necessary gaps and seals to absorb shipping loads. The outer packaging must be made of reinforced cardboard.

Liquid products:

Special shipping containers that are leak-proof should be used. These containers must be individually wrapped in a protective film or envelope. Containers should be round in shape. External atmospheric conditions must be considered when deciding to transport liquid products.

Signs of inappropriate or insufficient packaging:

the packaging is deformed or torn

there is visible leakage of liquid from the parcel

the lid of the package opens without forcing

the adhesive tape peels off and contents can fall out or be accessed

fragile materials were sent with inappropriate inner packaging

the packaging does not withstand a static load of 4-5 times the own weight of the parcel

Packaging that does not protect the object from the effects of the usual atmospheric conditions (cold and heat, light, moisture, etc.) is insufficient. The packaging must be in accordance with the nature of the goods, and their processing with loading and sorting machines. The sender must ensure that all parcels meet the following requirements:

1. The packaging must be reliable enough to protect the item.

2. The packaging should not consist only of polyethylene film or nylon, because there is a risk of scratching or breaking.

3. The packaging must provide internal and external insulation of the objects against mechanical damage.
